Homemade Talc Free Body Powder

By Tiffany Moore

If you routinely use talc powder after your shower, you might want to make your own talc-free powder at home. Dusting talcum body powder endangers your health. There is evidence suggesting that talcum may increase the risk for certain cancers.

Inhaling talc powder may cause lung inflammation, leading to serious respiratory disorders. A safer alternative is to buy talc-free body powder or you can make your own efficient and inexpensive homemade talc-free bath powder.

This homemade natural mild talc-free body powder soothes and cools your skin while absorbing odors and excess skin moisture. It also leaves a pleasant delicate fragrance that makes you feel fresh, smooth and dry all day.

Make Talc-Free Bath Powder Recipe

2 ounces rice flour

2 ounces arrowroot powder

2 ounces cornstarch

5-6 drops essential oil (I add calendula oil since it’s good for my eczema-prone kids)

How to make talc-free powder at home

1. Combine all the dry ingredients together in a bowl.

2. Add essential oil of your choice. Lavender, rose, chamomile or vanilla are great essential oils to use.

3. Using your hands, mix the ingredients thoroughly so that the oil is dispersed evenly.

4. Sift the powder to break up the clumps, if any.

5. Pour your homemade talc powder into a powder sifter container.

Now, pamper your skin to a truly silky and luxurious experience with your own talc-free body powder! They also make wonderful personalized gifts for friends and family!
